Hey, I know there is a Thread on Compatible Finale Versions for Windows 7, but has anyone figured out how to get Finale 2009 to work with 7?

I really need Finale for my Music Composition class

I have no problem running either 2008 or 2009 in Windows 7 beta and RC both 32bit and 64bit.
Don't have the launched Windows7 yet but I see no reason for the programs not to work. In romania we get it in November.

I have been using Finale 2009 on Windows 7 Beta and RC for the past 10 or so months and it works perfect.

Have you tried installing it? Do you have any problems?

I have not installed it yet. But I am thinking about it. and I saw on the other Thread that it is only compatible with 2010 products. So I was just wondering since I need it for my Comp class

The official posting on Win 7 / Finale compatibility only mentions F2010. Does anyone know about 2006? We are going to have to replace our computer at some point (currently running XP) which will be a significant expense for us. If I have to upgrade to F2010 at the same time that's going to be a problem. Anyone looked at how far back compatibility goes?

For obvious reasons I cannot repeat my previous role as the "Vista Pioneer" for Finale (while posting under my late, lamented avatar, Ebony Ivory), I expect to be putting Windows 7 on one of my computers imminently, and you can be sure I'll be bashing Finale 2005b, alongside Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Acrobat - not to mention my own software, WIN-PROLOG - to check for compatibility. Heck, I'll probably install Finale 2006c for the ride ...

Saffron, I will be most curious to find out if your tests with 2005b under Windows 7 prove to work.  For different reasons (eyesight related) Finale 2005b works better for me than any of the more recent versions (though using them is at least possible), due to a visual format change that was made starting with 2006.  Unfortunately, things are at the place where my main music computer setup can no longer be in the land of the 32 bit o/s.  If necessary, I can keep 2005b on an older generic computer, but that would not be preferred.

Well, I'm planning to "sacrifice" one of my laptops for the Win7 experiment, and you can be sure that Finale 2005b will be part of what I try out. I plan to do this sometime this week, now that my official Microsoft DVDs have arrived in the post ...
