I received this today from a student:-
"Just emailing to remind you about the enquiry with regards to Finale 2010 in the library. Having tried to load up a previous composition on the computer it opens Finale 10 no problem, states that it's converting the older format to suit the new software. Once it's done that, it then shows the music, but when trying to edit or play the music, an error message shows up saying something along the lines of "VSTU cannot be found", and then the program crashes."
Has anyone seen this issue or can advise? Is therea way to strip out the playback preferences from an older .mus file? We are a University Music Department in the UK running 48 copies of Finale and so far 2010 has been a bit of a train crash. I am hoping this issue can be resolved.
This was previously posted in error on the Macintosh forum but the crash is occuring on a Windows XP machine.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
