Soiunds like you have either an OS problem or a Hard drive problem. I would try to find a buddy who really knows what they are doing (like he does it for a living) to fix your computer, but better yet, take your computer to a certified shop.

I agree with Warren that either your drive is failing or your operating system is corrupted. Since Acer is unwilling to offer you any further assistance I would do the following:

If you can boot up in safe mode, save all your data files to an external drive. Try to repair Windows with the Windows OS disk. If that doesn't work, you may have to reformat your hard drive and do a fresh install of the OS and all other programs.

Many new computers have a hard disk diagnostic built into the BIOS of the machine. Try running that if your computer has it.

Try uninstalling Finale and see if it gives you issues. If it does, reformat, but only reinstall the OS. Don't install Finale or anything else. Play with the standard things that the OS does, and see if you get the same issues.

Install from factory setup and apply all the Microsoft updates that you can find. Even check the manufacturer's website to see if they have any updates that they have created. Then play with it for a while. Then install Finale. If you get an issue, then contact support. Hopefully, they can help you.
