I just moved to New Zealand for a year, and I'm looking at keyboards. I've got PrintMusic 2010 on my laptop (Windows xp). Nobody here is familiar with Finale, but I've been told any MIDI, even general MIDI, will work--someone else told me general MIDI won't work, I need MIDI input/output on the keyboard. And yet another says, as long there's a spot for a USB cable, no worries.

This is all new to me. Back in the states, I had a standard piano--no MIDI at all--but since I need a keyboard here, and can't afford to buy a new piano, this seemed like a good time to get into MIDI. Your thoughts?

Your keyboard needs a MIDI interface. If it outputs to USB, that should be all you need. If it outputs to MIDI cables, you will need a MIDI to USB interface like the Edirol UM-1, or one of the M-Audio ones. In either case, it will require a driver on your PC.
