I have been adapting the Multimeasure Rest feature to a
Multimeasure "Play" instruction for percussionists, etc.

i.e. instead of one bar of music and seven repeat bars
I can use one and a "Play 7" instruction.

However, you must delete the one-bar staff style from the
relevant bars.

Also,  the adapted Play indication replaces the  standard
Tacet indication.

So, I suggest a new "Multimeasure play" indicator:
It will replace multiple one-bar repeats - with user selection.

Cheers

Common shortcut on drum parts - write one and then indicate "play 7" [similar]

Most shortcuts like this originate from hand copied music. Just ways to save the copyists a little time.
So applying the same logic, it's faster when using computer notation to simply display all measures and copy and paste like crazy. By trying to emulate a hand copied shortcut, you're taking more time to come up with a workaround.

I didn't mean that - I meant, why did you bump the thread? I may have missed something, but I couldn't actually see a question that needed a response?
