I'm working with a file imported from midi and have sections of a composition with voices split. Is there a quick way to select individual notes and move them to a different layer? I see how to create new notes in a number of ways, and how to move a whole measure-worth of music to a different layer, but not how to send individual notes within a measure to Layer 2, for instance, while leaving the others in place.
Thanks

No, I don't think this is possible. When you Move notes across layers you have to select a whole measure (or Finale does it for you if you select a partial measure). You might think about using the Explode music operation to separate a chord into different staves, then you can copy individual notes back into other layers on the original staff using View Active Layer. If there isn't much to do it's probably quicker to copy the whole measure to Layer 2 and then delete the notes you don't want.

Thanks Peter... I had thought of doing as you suggest in terms of copying and deleting. There isn't a great deal of it to attend to. But wouldn't a "Send to Layer 2 (or 3 or 4)" key in simple entry mode be a great tool?
