Among my other amateur musical pursuits, we are starting a family-based hand bell choir. We own 5-octaves of refurbished Malmark hand bells, and have 10 ringers so far.

I have successfully created a couple of hand bell scores using the bells-used chart plugin, but would like better playback, especially for ear checking and rehearsal CDs. I have a bunch of arrangements in my head that need to be put down on paper.

I have full Garritan GPO which does provide a handbell set of samples, but only has standard ringing sounds. I would like to find a set of samples that correctly incorporate Martellato, LV (Let Vibrate), TD (Thumb Damp) and such. They obviously could be linked to keyswtiches etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

-david BTW

I haven't found any soundfonts (including 3rd party) that will correctly do marts, TDs, etc. For LV, you might try to assign the piano damper pedal to the expression. I don't worry about playback for the various bell techniques; those can easily be changed once you bring it to the ringing table.
