Hello,

I'm using finale songwriter. I have finished writing out the score but now I want to see each part separately. For example I have violin 1, 2, 3 and piano. How can I just see the violin 1 part alone? Right now I can only print and view the whole score together.

Thank you very much!

SongWriter can't do this. The lowest product that supports (extraction of) parts is PrintWriter:

You could hide the staffs to print each individually.

PrintWriter ????? Printmusic can't do this, I don't know about Allegro, Finale obviously can. The way I would do it is to save a copy of the file under a different name for each part, then open each and delete the parts that are not relevant. Shouldn't take more than five minutes. (I'm assuming that each part is on a separate stave, or at least a separate layer).

PrintMusic can extract parts. I've been doing it for years. It's in the File menu>Extract parts, at least as far back as 2006.

Sorry, yes it can - just a feature that I don't use so had forgotten about. But my suggestion will work for SW.
