How do I adjust the height of staves so my lyrics aren't jammed in, running into each other and notes?

Click the staff tool. Grab the box at the left end of the lower staff, and drag it down. This will adjust all of the staves at once. You can do them individually, but it's a more involved process. Ask, if you need to do it.

Simple Entry, QWERTY keyboard. That's my system, and I'm stickin' to it.

Thanks very much. Way too easy--no wonder I couldn't figure it out!
