I mostly use Finale Allegro 2007 for jazz compositions, arrangements and transcriptions. After going through the time-consuming process of inserting a chorus worth of chords above, say, a piano or bass stave, I want to copy these en masse to other staves e.g. a solo chorus by a horn, or to subsequent choruses of the tune on the piano and bass staves. I can't find a way to do this. Can anyone help?

If Allegro allows copying of one item only with Mass Edit (or whatever its called in Allegro 2007), then you probably can. If not, then you probably can't.

Looks like you will need to upgrade to get what you need. I recommend Finale 2010. I think it is the best version so far. 2011 is still very new so I would wait to see if there are any problems with it before buying it. Personally, I will be skipping it and be waiting for 2012. I was a little underwhelmed with the new additions. 2010 has a lot of great new & useful features. Check out the demo and see what you think.

I can't find a way to copy in Mass Edit. Is it possible in Finale (as opposed to Finale Allegro) to copy chord symbols from one stave to another, either as individual chords or as, say, 8 bars worth?

Yes. Go to Edit/Edit filter and make sure "Chords and fretboards" is checked. Then highlight what you want to copy with the selection tool, and then copy & paste.
