Or chart may be written as in a key but makes more sense to BE in no specific key. Here's the question: In parts - say Eb alto - the part is transposed chromatically, however the chords DO NOT transpose. They only transpose when one is using 'normal' transposition. Design? If so, is there a way to transpose the chords in the part AFTER THE FACT? I know I can extract the parts and make them look like I want, however I would like to use linked parts that behave the same way. Is that at all possible? erling Quicksilver G4, 867 Mhz, 1,25 GB SDRAM. 15" PowerBook G4, 1,5 Ghz, 1,5 GB Ram. 2007c always latest Mac OS version | | Back to Top | |

Mass Edit menu > Change > Chord Assignments... In the dialog box Change Chord Assignments there is a button that says "Transpose...". (It might be a good idea to toggle chord playback off for the transposed chords!).
Alternatively, instead of transposing the chords, you can make them capo chords (look just below the "Transpose..." button). With capo chords there is no need to toggle chord playback off. By default, capo chords display italicized, but you can toggle the italicization off (Chord menu > Italicize Capo Chords). Note, however, that italicization of capo chords is a "global" setting that affects all staves in the entire cdoument. If you toggle off italicization of capo chords, capo chords will become "un-italicized" everywhere in the document.
2. If you want the transposed chord symbols to appear in the part, but not in the score, use a staff style. Staff styles can be un-linked between score and parts. In the score, set the Staff Attributes to, not display chords. In the part, use a staff style to make the chords display.

There is really no excuse for this after ten years and numerous complaints. The more people complain, the more likely they will be to fix it.
