Is there a way to print (to pdf) parts so that they are side-by-side; making them good for printing on 11x17 inch paper?

Thank you,
David

If you just want the pages side-by-side on 11x17, you can open a multi-page 8.5x11 pdf in Acrobat, set the page setup to Tabloid Landscape. In the print window, set page scaling to Multiple Pages with two per sheet as in the attached screenshot.

If you want a booklet, you need to impose the pages in a different order (called printer spreads) than the way it looks when you designed it (called reader spreads). That's a little more work, so I won't go into it unless that's what you want to do.

This is great. it worked until I went to make the pdf and then it said saving while printing isn't supported.

This may not be an issue because I've been able to get what I'm after right out of Finale. But the results are inconsistent.

Ah. You'll be trying to Save As a PDF from Acrobat (or Reader). Which is not allowed.

If you want to make booklets, please read this thread:
forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=6&m=274991

where you will see that I have shown a multitude of ways of doing this, from free scripts and apps to professional imposition programs, all of which have been ignored in favour of lengthy complex manual procedures! smilewinkgrin

In fact, there's even a Finalescript to make booklets directly from Finale!

Set Page Setup in the [File] menu to 11x17 landscape, then when you go to print, check 2up. Now you can print to PDF as you normally would.

Thanks Jeremy. It's getting closer but it's still coming out badly: Both pages are on the (virtual ) 11x17 paper in the right layout but they're like 2/3 their proper size.

Make sure in the Page Setup menu, [scale] is set to 100%.

Thanks Jeremy, It is set to 100% and even if I change it to 120% it still doesn't look different.
