It works but it's very tedious moving the rests up above the staff one by one. I'm hoping I'm not doing this correctly and someone here can offer an alternative method.
While I'm one the subject, it would be cool if someone can tell me a way to put an 8th note on the last beat of a measure without having to write in rests at all.
Thank you, David | | Back to Top | |

You can select all the rests of a layer, and move them all at once.

As far as I know, you have to enter the necessary rests before the last eight note, but you can (in Speedy entry) hide each rest quickly right after you created it, with the O or H key. For the other, layers will work IF you already have a note on that beat. You can use Launch Layers Mid-Measure to switch to another layer on that last beat. Otherwise, you have to do it the hard way. Another workaround I'm toying with ( and I'd love to hear your input) is that when I use different layers let's say L1 for snare/cymbals and L2 for kick, The rests automatically move up above the staff once a kick note is put in. I'm wondering if there's a way to insert "dummy" kicks and then hide them. And then keep layer 1 as slash notation. Would this work?
