Try opening the files again, and under the document menu choose "set default music font." Make sure Maestro or Engraver Font Set is selected. If neither of these fonts are available you have not installed them.
If selecting Maestro or Engraver solves the problem quit and open the file again to make sure the preference holds.
If you do not have duplicates, have installed your fonts correctly and have your prefs set correctly and the problem still occurs try deleting your font caches. You can do this with the free software ONYX:

most of my notes display correctly. however, my Clef sign is a weird symbol (similar to what was seen in Jazy's problem: http://forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=5&m=104389 )
and my eighth note rests are Bass Clef symbols.
Is there a definitive, complete, one-stop guide to repairing all font problems?
Thanks, Trevor | | Back to Top

1. If you are seeing weird characters in your Score, please exit Finale and remove all Maestro and Jazz font families from Applications->Font Book
2. Download the Font Pack from makemusic.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3559/kw/fonts/r_id/101773
3. Reboot
4. Install the Font Pack (Altenatively, if you don't have the Font Pack, try reinstalling only the Fonts from the Finale DVD.)
5. open Finale, and all your notations should show up correctly.
I have 2010, and I hope this can help other version numbers. Sorry for the double-post. | | Back to Top
