I've gone through all the parts and moved things around and they look very good. The only problem is a lot of passages get split onto different lines( for instance a 2 measure phrase starts on the last measure of one line and continues all the way to left and down a line). They are still readable but not perfect. Is there a solution for this? Also, I can make pdf files for all the parts and score but is there a way to make all the parts appear in one pdf file?
Then there is one other problem that comes up: one page of the score (and it's a different page every time) turns from landscape to portrait and everything is much bigger. I fix it be redefining the pages but I don't know why this is happening.
And then while I have your attention: I am unable to use the keys to switch articulations and dynamics. The numbers don't have any effect on the selection.
Thanks for your help and my apologies for not posting separate posts.

Umm... Adobe Acrobat can merge my .pdfs quite easily in just a few seconds, thanks. woodwind specialist and doubler - Finale 2009b using Speedy Entry, GPO 2nd ed. Full version, Garritan Jazz & Big Band, Garritan Concert and Marching Band, Windows Vista 32-bit SP1, 4GB RAM, Soundblaster Audigy II zs

It doesn't take me much longer than that to do it with PDF Creator. And it lets me do a lot of other things, too. And it's free! (Yes, I know Preview is free, too. But you have to buy a Mac, which I won't do.) Mike Rosen www.specialmillwork.com

It's the 2nd time you said "number keys". The metakey is the number or letter in the upper right of each articulation, not the number on the upper left. For the Articulation tool, you hold down the metakey and click the notehead itself. If you want to switch articulations from a pre-existing one, you click it, so it's selected, and tap the metakey.
Try an articulation you already have, select it by clicking its box so it's black, and tap number 1. It should be FFFF. Try all the numbers and it goes from FFFF to PPPP.
Does that work?
