Anyone have any experience working with older versions of Finale on a new MacBook Pro with Intel i5 processors (Snow Leopard of course)?

I have heard of people using 2005 on Snow Leopard. You will need Apple's Rosetta PPC emulation software, which is an optional install in 10.6.
You may have trouble installing, so you may have to copy an existing installation, or use a third-party installer, like Pacifist.

However, MakeMusic do not even consider 2009 to be fully compatible with 10.6, and they do not support its use on 10.6.

With any version before 2010, you may have some problems, crashes, trouble with external audio and midi hardware, etc, etc. The earlier your version, the more trouble you'll have.

I strongly advise you to upgrade to 2011, because even from 2009, I have found it to have many improvements and features, over and above its suitability on Snow Leopard.
