If this isn't possible, please add to the Finalescript wish list:

Position the cursor at a particular point (page, x, y), create a text box, type in text, modify font style/size/etc as needed.

Secondly, if the source of the text could be identified as a variable (say another text box or menu value in the document), then it would be just about perfect.

Tks

Good suggestion.

Could "selecting" a text box (vs creating one) also be added to that. This is to supplement the TSAR plugin for occassions where the same text is used more than once in a file but the user only wants to modify a particular occurence (I think TSAR will change all occurences).

Hmmm ... I take it from your response that this isn't possible ... yet ...

So, let's expand the request:

<Dream Sequence>

Each object in a document has to have a name, type, and location along with other attributes.  It should be possible (if the general case can't be handled) to provide a standard naming convention for text boxes in relatively standard areas (title, instrument name, page (both top and bottom of page options, copyright info, etc).  The general case could be something like User01, User02, etc ...

Using "object" notation, a given field could be referenced:  "User01.page01.x = 10.00 inches" or something similar.

Alternatively, the text fields could be indexed  "User[01].page02.font = Ariel"

Inserting a new text box would be something like

               Create TextBox User01
               User01.x = 10.00 inches
               User01.y = 4.25 inches
               User01.Text = 'Title of composition'
               <etc etc etc>

</Dream Sequence>

And I'm sure there are many other ways of looking at it ...
