Hello,

Does somebody know how to insert repeats differently in different staves?

Namely, a composer wants to have repeats in a piece for three voices like that:
1st voice: forward repeat in (say) 111th bar and backward repeat in 112th bar
2nd voice: forward repeat in 112th bar and backward repeat in 113th bar
3rd voice: forward repeat in 111th bar and backward repeat 112th bar

Now, I know there's an option in Document Options - Repeats to make a staff list. Obviously I can do lots of different lists.

But if I change a list for the next repeat - will it affect previously made repeats? (They are all normal - all at once)

And then I need to make completely new pattern of repeating, i.e. not two bars anymore but one, or four; and with different pattern of starts of repeating...

Can I only make three lists (each for separate voice) and then I just switch between options while inserting repeats in different voices and length of repeats?

Best regards,

iboregua

I think your best (only?) option is to use "fake" repeat lines, made up of shape expressions. If you look in the Miscellaneous category there are already barlines made up to fit the height of a single staff. You can duplicate and modify those into repeat signs, perhaps by reading up on the Shape Designer. You can define their default placement (to right and left barlines) and assign them metatools for easy placement in the score...

Hello nordensten,

I had an IT eclipse so I'm answering only now. At first many thanks for your help. In fact I had to come to the same solution. Just those dots were not as accurately placed as they should be. I was in real rush - I had to produce a draft for an extra rehearsal of the choir. For details there will be time later. And thanks for the hint about placement and assigning metatools.

Is there any better in later versions of Finale - regarding this issue?

Thank you again!
