Can somebody please confirm which of these JW plug-ins (see screenshot of ones I have in 2014d) are unsafe or currently unreliable in 2014.5.

What I'm hoping to do, is first to confirm that I do have the most up-to-date versions and secondly to ignore any that are deemed obsolete, using the JW Plug-in Tool Manager to establish this. In the Finder window I'd then tag all those I mean to transfer (less likelihood of error that way, I think) and copy them en-block to a JW folder created for the plug-ins of 2014.5.

If this would be safe, it would be quicker and easier than downloading them one by one for 2014.5: but would it be safe?

No doubt Jari will weigh in, but he recently revised and updated many of them. AFAIK, the latest versions will work with 2014.5. I have over 30 that seem to work fine.
However, what works for me seems not to work for others, often. smilewinkgrin

If you run Jari's plugin manager, it tells you which ones are outdated.

If you use links to create a virtual directory in the Plug-ins directory of all installed versions of Finale that points to a single real directory all your JW plug-ins, you can avoid this issue of having multiple copies of the plug-ins, one for each version of Finale.  It is totally unnecessary.  A side benefit is that the maintenance of the plug-ins will be greatly simplified.  I cannot give guidance on the Mac, but maybe a Mac OS expert, like Wiggy, can show you how it is done.  Take a look at these links.

Thank you for the replies.

In the end, I duplicated the JW folder, then trashed any plug-ins within in it that were obsolete before moving the modified duplicate to the F2014.5 plug-ins folder. According to the JW Plug-in Tool Manager in 2014.5 I now have 25 of these installed, 0 obsolete, 0 outdated. One odd thing: once I've closed the Plug-in Tool Manager window, I can't open it again without relaunching 2014.5. The other JW Plug-in windows that I've so far tried appear to be operating normally.

All non-obsolete JW plug-ins except "JW Plug-in Tool" and "JW Category Sorter" are Cocoa (meaning "2014.5-compatible" in this case) plug-ins. These 2 plug-ins will be updated shortly.

Thanks, Jari, for the clarification.

Its not being Cocao presumably explains the behaviour in F 2014.5 of the Plug-in Tool Manager window I described above.

I don't know if it applies to other plugins, but I noted that the Note Spacing plugin can only be used once per Finale session. A second time the window will not show up. I must reboot Finale to be able to invoke the Note Spacing window again.

Edit: a quick check learned that the same applies to Accidentals, so possibly to all plugins with a windowed interface.
