Would the person who voted 'no' care to elaborate? It is the only vote against the current forum recorded and a voice not yet heard. Don't you think that your (valid) arguments should be heard as well? Which one? Well, both - now that there are 2. Frankly, speaking for myself, I don't care about these trolls. N. There are 3 it says.
We can use SWAG here and assume those three are:

With the limited options available (non-functional official site, finaleforum.com and the Facebook group), they're going to get a very increased volume of issues that used to be handled here. | | Back to Top | |

They are a community. I've been checking them almost daily ever since I first learned of them. They contain not only technical support, but humor, information, and surprises. They let members' personalities come through. Members are as responsive to simple requests as they are to highly esoteric and specialized needs. For years these forums have consistently been an element of the partnership that occurs between MakeMusic and its users. MakeMusic's policy of letting members comment without imposing any censorship as long as civility and courtesy is maintained has also helped foster the unique qualities of these forums. To pick out just one example, years ago, there were many upset comments that MakeMusic was abandoning the Mac platform (proved untrue in the course of time--and that was before the major Mac turnaround).
Losing these forums have consequences that are much greater than would seem as the result of a limited decision about relocating technical help, not only because of the limitations of the replacement as discussed in many other entries, but also because these forums have grown into something much richer and more complex than just assistance forums.
So, I also ask MakeMusic to reconsider and continue these forums. Graeme

It should be kept alive until it is replaced with something at least as good, preferably better, where the archive of all this great information can be transferred. The new forum is not a viable candidate.
