I have a piece where the first measure of what will become a multimeasure rest also contains a new time signature. When I make the multimeasure rest, the previous measure does not show a cautionary time signature, rather, the new time signature shows up in the "measure" with the multimeasure rest. I'd like it to not show there, but as a "cautionary" time signature at the end of the previous measure.

Any ideas?

If you really want to do this, here is one way. It's not correct notation, however.

Thanks,N. I knew I could use that trick, but was hoping for a better solution other than a work-a-round.

So I guess Finale's notation (like your first image) is the "correct" notation?

Hi Joe,

if you move the multi measure rest into a new "line", so the next system in the part layout, the measure before will display the cautionary time ad/or key signature.
