Here's a note I wrote to Mac Support and
haven't received an answer as yet. Maybe
some of you out there have answers to this:
*************************
Now that 2003 for Macintosh is going to be
coming out, I'm hoping that a couple of
things will be fixed that have been bothering
me for some time. It seems like you keep
coming out with lots of fancy-dancy new
features which, by the way, many of us who do
music engraving for publication don't even
use.
Here's two things that still are a problem:
1. When adjusting syllables on lyrics in
page view you have to double-click the note
in order for the box to come up to adjust it.
I believe prior to version 2001, a single
click did the job. Also, when I go to
another page and double-click a note, boxes
come up all over the entire page. I have to
redraw and then do it again. Then it works.
2. The other thing which has NEVER worked
properly, is the "trill - ///" articulation.
It works fine if it's on a note that has a
stem, but when you put it on a whole note,
there's always manual adjusting to be made.
Can't you make it to recognize the whole note
and place the marking as though it had a
stem?
These seem like pretty basic and simple
things that should be fixed.
I'd like to hear your comments or suggestions
on this.
Thanks!

This is a good feature request.
While you are waiting for the feature, try this workaround:
Duplicate the articulation, and edit the duplicate to place itself correctly on whole notes (in the Articulation Designer dialog box, click the button "Handle Positioning...")
In Other Words: Use two different articulations instead of one.
