I created a melody in Transcription Mode which saved tempo data. After playing it though, I decided I wanted a middle section to play a little faster than I originally had. The trick is that I want to preserve the little tempo fluctuations of my performance relative to each other. I just want the entire section to go a percentage faster. However, the CHANGE BY % dialog in the Tempo tool would only change the first note; the rest of the notes in that measure and all the others would remain the same. I tried to create an executable shape with the Text Expression Tool, but that didn't work either. There are solutions for gradually changing tempo (accel, or ritard), but I can't find a solution to my dilemma. I guess what I'm looking for is the same kind of options that exist for the MIDI tool. Why can I change the overall velocities of notes relative to each other, but not do the same for tempo. I don't want to "dehumanize" my performance by dictating a set tempo, but I'm at my wits end right now. Does anyone have a solution??

The tempo tool functions on a beat-by-beat basis in each measure. So, you'd need to use the "Next" button in the Tempo Tool dialog box to step to the next beat if you wish to control it that much.
