Are there any advantages to Windows 8 in terms of each of use?  Can you use the touch screen for note entry?
Right now I am using Windows 7 and am curious if 8 will behave differently (better/worse).
Second question:
Is there a Finale app for entry of musical ideas on the fly that can be edited later in finale?

Windows 8 will be no different. Finale doesn't support the touch features.

Do you mean an iPad app?

It works fine.
If you install windows 8 from zero (clean installation) finale 2012 doesn't carry that "bug" when it opens again after you closed it.

Windows * will handle touch-multitouch much better than Win7 but only for application that make use of such features. Finale is not touch aware, so any touch input is perceived as simple mouse clicks.
