I run my MacBook Pro through an FA-66 with a set of yorkville powered monitors. The sound generated from Finale is only on half the spectrum. The system works fine with iTunes but I can't get it to work properly with finale. I have reinstalled the program but still no result.
Thanks for any help | Back to Top | |

Question
When I playback Finale on my Mac, I only hear sound through my left speaker channel. Why is this? Answer
There is a known problem with Finale 2008 and Finale 2009 that causes playback to only be routed only through the left stereo channel on Macs when playing through certain audio interfaces. We have identified this problem with Digidesign hardware (Digi 002 and 003), Focusrite Saffire, as well as some other Firewire interfaces. We have also seen this with a small portion of USB interfaces, including the Digidesign MBOX.
This problem was addressed by our development team, and no longer is present in Finale 2010.
To avoid this problem in Finale 2008 or Finale 2009, route playback in Finale through an alternate playback device using these steps:
1. From the MIDI/Audio menu, point to Device Setup, and click Audio Setup. 2. From the Output list, click Built-in Output. 3. Click OK.
In most cases, following these steps will route Finale's playback through your computer's internal sound system.
