I was married to an NZ woman for 23 years until 1999, and am still on e-mail terms with her (12,000 miles away), so I'll ask what, if anything, she knows about these people.

We learn from the blog /mega.nz/#blog that he apparently retired from Mega, which he founded claiming at the time that his main concern was security of the data. In other words, the site is not new, but has a new staff which is not in good terms with its founder. Read the blog. This doesn't tell much about the quality of the service, I know...
