Guys, sorry for such an ignorant question, but how do I import all my files from 2002 into 2005?  Must they each be done individually?  Certainly not!  Help, please.

There is a script for this, I believe. But otherwise, uncheck the two top items in program options in 2005. I generally like to keep my older versions (I also have 2002, 2003, and 2004 on my computer) in the event things don't convert nicely. You can copy or move all the old files into the Finale 2005 folder(s), open them all at once (with those options unchecked) and resave them all upon exiting them.

However, you may want to try the plugin designed just for that.

The "top two items" Zuill is referring to are on the "Open" page in Program Options. The first, "Open Older Documents As Untitled" helps prevent accidentally overwriting the old file, but forces you to enter a new file name when you save. I highly recommend saving a copy of the 2002 files somewhere; then opening the copies with that checkbox UNchecked lets you simply save over the old ones (the copies).

Unchecking the second checkbox makes it so you don't have to click OK on each conversion dialog that pops up.

That said, remember you can select multiple files to open at once in the File Open dialog, and you can drag groups of files from Windows Explorer onto a running Finale.

Thanks for clarifying my post. I was in a hurry and left out the Open page instruction. I leave those checked, personally, because I keep the older version as is and resave the new one in the current program's folder. That way I have an original set up to be opened in the original program (I have 2002-2005 on my computer) and saved in that program's folders. I then rename it and save it in the current version I am using.
