So I want move the tenor (bottom) note to the following staff, then copy the soprano (top) note to the next staff as well, but dropping it 8vb in the process in order to create the bass note. Thus leaving two notes on each staff (SA, TB).
(no comments, please, about the appropriateness of this voicing
Any ideas for Finalescripting this? | Back to Top

That gives me my SA, TB, and extraneous staff which I can just clear out. Works pretty well, but it would be nice to get it "just right " | Back to Top

Are you still seeking a solution for this? I was out of town for two weeks starting just about when you posted this and and am just now catching up on emails, etc. I have an elaborate script that does the reverse what you want. It splits SA & TB parts into 4 seperate lines (to create instrumental parts for a church hymnal). In the process, however, it adds staves, copies music from different layers to individual staves, moves all to the same layer and then recombines them using the implode utility.
I could paste my script into a reply (or in a private message) so you can see the steps. Unfortunately, I do not have time to modify it for your specific need but I think the code could be useful if you are interested. Let me know.
