If I remember correctly, you're using the new version?

In FS2.0 in Finale 2009:

menu item "add measures"
type 80 in "how many measures%"
click OK

Thanx Carla, so there is no way that FS will add 80 measures WITHOUT me adding the number is the text box. Eg. I cannot put the number 80 in the script itself?

OK wait, let me explain:

I'm writing a script where I load a score (of a certain ensemble type) into Finale. I am going to use this score as a template for another piece of music for the same Orchestra. Now, without having to go through the whole setup of the score, I'm writing a script to:
1. select every measure from measure 2 to the end of score.
2. delete the selected measure stack.
3. select measure 1
4. clear all items in measure 1
5. add 80 measure after measure 1

Now I have a clean manuscript for the same ensemble with all the sound settings etc ready. All I have to do now it "save as...", change the key and time signatures.

But, I want the script to run from start to end without me having to enter any parameters.

Hope this helps

Regards

You misunderstand - the bold type *is* the complete script. Paste that into the FS Editor, hit Run script and it will do the typing for you. Hmm, in other words, the type 80 in "how many measures" is a command to the computer, not my command to you. smilewinkgrin

BTW, this is new functionality in Finalescript 2.0 to type directly into dialog boxes.

So for your example:
select measure 2 to end
delete measures
select measure 1
clear
menu item "add measures"
type 80 in "how many measures"
click OK

Carla you're a darling. KNOW I understand. Thanx.

Though, I am using Finale 2008 at the moment but I'll wait for 2009. FS2009 looks better by far.

Thanx for everything you guys do for us muso's.

Kind Regards!
