I have a boatload of them and have upgraded to find that they are no longer working in the later version. I'd rather avoid rebuilding them all from scratch.

They are really excellent and save me lots of time. Besides the Beam over Barlines plugin which is included in Finale, there are numerous other useful ones, among which Patterson Beams which I use to improve Finale's beaming angles (and emulate the beams of the Henle edition) and Settings Scrapbook, which enables you to move practically any setting in one document to another one, either separately, any number of them, or all of them at once. This is really handy for updating old files if you've improved settings since they were made. In any case, this includes metatools, and they can be selected separately for articulations, expressions and tuplets. Highly recommended! How else is Finale to know for which tool the metatools are intended (articulations, expressions, tuplets)? Once in the window, you can simply select one of the expressions (or articulations) and press Shift and the desired key. The metatool assignment appears in the upper right corner. Continue as long as you like without leaving the window. Vaughan

Even Sibelius has its paid for third party plugins.
And, as Finale has Jari (JW Plugins) supplying free plugins with his labor (Please do though contribute with $ if you can). Sibelius has Bob Zawalich supplying free plugins.
So, to answer your statement if Make Music does not want to pay the designers of these third party plugins they don't get installed with the program.
Just thank god both Sibelius and Finale leaves a door open in their programs for these plugins. If they did not where would you be than? I've been using the full version of TGTools for years as only a demo. As stated, it expires after 30 days, but you can still exercise one tool per Finale session. I can stand to restart Finale if I need to use another TGTool. One notable exception to this rule is the Options where you can program keyboard shortcuts.

They'e not showing up in my expressions ... what am I doing wrong? Thanks.
Make sure you have both files open - source file and target file. Copy the source and paste to the target. I just tried it with Finale 2014d and it worked. But…
The plugin does not work in Finale 2014.5. If this is a problem, what I would do is use 2014d to transfer the Metatools, save, then reopen in 2014.5 to continue working, if that is your preferred version. You can keep both programs open side by side and ready for use.
I contacted Tobias Giesen of TGTools about a week ago, mentioning that the Tools have several problems with Finale 2014.5. Tobias replied that he was planning on issuing an update to address some of these issues. He mentioned wanting to have it ready last week - it's not yet available, but hopefully very soon.
