In the attached document, using the Guitar Bend Tool, I am unable to insert the curved lines with pointing arrowheads.

To obtain the pointers in the first measure, I copied one with the indications from another document that is in layer 2 (red) then edited the notation.

The measure attributes of #1 and #4 are identical. Can anyone figure out why the arrowheads fail to appear when using the Guitar Bend tool in this document?

You don't have the proper Smart Line chosen for the Guitar bend. Choose the line with the arrow at the end instead of the wiggly line, usually chosen for glissandos.

That did it. I have no idea why Finale chose glissando. Thank you for rescuing me from going crazy.

I think it remembers the slot by number. If you add or move the available shapes, and something else gets moved into that slot, it picks that one because it now matches the number originally chosen. It starts with 1 at the top of the list and proceeds downward.

I did move the lines in the Custom Line Tool, organizing the types into groups; so that it would be easier locate the type I wanted. But it proved to be a fruitless endeavor; for if loading the library file into a new document, most of the organized elements scatter. Finale still needs a lot of work. And how handy it would be to have existing elements overwritten instead being duplicated. Oh, well, we don't live in heaven.
