Hi Everybody,

I just installed the new version of Finale on my MacPro and I am very disappointed to say that I am having the exact same issues I was having before with input lag. What's weird is my coworker installed it on his MacBook Pro (with the same amount of Ram as my MacPro) and it runs a lot better on his computer. So it seems to be a problem specific to the MacPro. Is anyone else having this issue? I thought the 64-bit update would solve this problem but at this point it's looking like it's the same set of issues with a supposedly improved version of Finale.

Thanks,

Jeff

Okay thanks, it looks like we're working off of the same computer although you have 16 extra Gigs on me. The problems I'm running into are with large scores as well. Some things were improved such as Playback (thank goodness). Overall though, I still had better performance when I was using Finale 2012 on my Dell Laptop. It's been a lot more negatives than positives since switching to Mac and upgrading to 2014, then 2014.5, and now 25. Thank you, I appreciate the information!

Jeff,
I have a MP 6.1 3.7Ghz with 16 G Ram and F25 is faster than F2014. I'm happy with the speed improvements although my scores are not large.
What display are you using? If you are using a 4k display you will need to run F25 in low res mode, click on F25 icon and get info and you will see the option.

Have any of you long-suffering Mac users tried a Windows virtual machine? Supposedly they're easy to use nowadays (easy to move files in and out of the virtual machine, and cross-mounted directories). Finale Windows doesn't seem to have these performance issues.
