I've connected my Motif6 to the PC with a USB cable. The Midi set-up in Finale sees the YAMAHA USB device, however when I try to use the Hyperscribe nothing is notated as I play.

What can I do? As a newbie, I was under the impression that USB would negate the need for midi cables, which I don't have.

David,

Make sure your Options>Quantization Settings are set to have a smallest note value as an 8th or 16th note, not a whole note or similar. If so, write winsupport@makemusic.com and ask for the ExpLab test program. That can determine where the problem lies.

FWIW to anyone else, I found that on the Motif's, The Midi in/out is set to MIDI at the factory, and needs to be changed to USB by pressing the Utility button, then F5 then yes/no to select.
