There is a comment made in the PDF file "Getting the Most from SmartMusic" about Large Ensemble works (i.e. Things like Shephard's Hey)  supported by SM.  Does anyone know what this is?  Is it available with 9.0?  Is it yet to come.  It sure would be a huge breakthrough for directors even it was an extra purchase.

There is so much potential in this program, and this will be an area that when it is developed will really get people on board. I have made a few examples myself of full band pieces.
 
Time consuming, but worth the effort. It would be great if they had agreements with some publishers to provide the files. I imagine there might be some complications with copyrights and distribution.

Sadly, there is a little star next to that paragraph. This feature is not yet available, not even in 9.0.

I did see the asterisk.  However, I as a band director, would even be willing to pay an extra fee for rights to those files.  What about the rest of you?

I agree that these files will be very useful. I've spent time in the past entering band scores into Finale for this purpose. Having students be able to practice with the full band and submit recordings of their practice is extremely helpful.
