I have now put the current Finale PDK Framework on the Finale tips site (subsection "Plug-in Development" in the Downloads area), if any of you want to try it out for rapid Finale plug-in development.

There's sources for a small sample plug-in there as well, as a separate download.

Finale PDK2010 or PDK2012 (from MakeMusic), a C++ compiler and good C++ knowledge are required.

The current PDK Framework documentation is found at:
http://www.finaletips.nu/frameworkref/

The Wiki has been removed due to enormous amount of spamming, but the information is now available here instead:

Hi Jari,
Does one need PDK2010 or PDK2012 as you say, or will the PDK2007 that I have work? If not, where can we get PDK2012???

In theory, it's possible to get 2007PDK to work with the framework, but that would require lots and lots of work.

You have to contact MM directly regarding getting a more recent PDK.

Well, I contacted MM Support asking for PDK2010. Here's their reply:

Unfortunately at this time we are not able to supply plug-in development kits. At some time this may become possible but I do not have a timeline for when that will happen.

Please feel free to respond to this case if you have any further questions about this issue.

Send me your e-mail address in a private message and I'll try to send a note to the development about this. (It's just me guessing here, but getting you a new PDK might involve signing an NDA and perhaps only the 2012 PDK.) If they contact you later on, say that you want to use it with the PDK Framework.

You can build plug-ins for earlier versions with the PDK Framework and the 2012 PDK, but in versions earlier than Finale 2010 the support by the framework isn't complete.
