I spent $250 to solve this issue and offered to share this with Finale. I have had no reply. I would point out that my exchanges with them were not good.
I am sure that Finale tech now has the solution. If they do not they know where to get it.

Be sure to look under the grouping "Microsoft Windows (nn)" where nn is the number of updates. This grouping is near the bottom, so you can avoid searching in the wrong places.

Also, Windows updates will eventually ask you to install this update again as it will be recognized as one you don't have. At that point you can hide it.

P.S.: I'm curious as to what cost $250.
P.P.S.: I just tried printing 3 linked documents parts from the same file and it printed all 3. Maybe this only happens when choosing the files from the folder before Finale is opened. I guess I would need to test what others are testing.

Was that before or after removing the update? "Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!"

Searched for Windows 10 update to remove, per instructions, but found update numbered KB3176495, not KB3176493 (difference in last digit). Removed it anyway, but it did not help (i.e., same problem). | Back to Top | |

Date Joined Apr 2015 Total Posts : 5 | Posted 8/21/2016 7:39 PM (GMT -6) | | Checking Microsoft for the Windows 10 update I have (with the "5" at the end, not "3" - which was re-installed automatically after I removed it), I see the warning: "After you apply this security update and you print multiple documents in succession, the first two documents may print successfully. However, the third and subsequent documents may not print." That's exactly what I'm finding...with finale, but not, for instance, printing 3 documents in one command from Windows Explorer, which works fine. I haven't tried it on other applications or printers. I'm thinking the version of Windows I now have has the earlier update now embedded so I can't remove it. So somebody (Microsoft/MakeMusic) needs to make a move; I would think this would be a rather vital issue to a lot of users; it certainly is to me.
