On my Mac pro (ML) scroll view is painfully slow. If I use my scroll wheel and give it a spin I have to wait for it to catch up, time for a coffee. Page view seems fine. I tried a document from 2011 and a brand new set up wizard one from 2014, so it is not the document.

Is this typical for others? I know of another person who reports same issue on his macbook pro (new one). I have yet to try mine.

Do they allow us to edit the default instruments yet? Like we could edit the xml file in 2011 and before.

I like the fix for no key signatures, thanks. As you still can not 'see' where instrument changes are yet, I suspect I will still have to use the staff style method.
I also wish there was a way to move groups up and down like 2011.

Tim

I find Scroll View is very fast. Almost too fast. Most people's experience of 2014 is that the program is much more responsive than previous versions. No massive delay while using Simple Entry, more immediate scrolling, etc.
Some others have said they've found it really slow, so there may be something going one. One issue is that scrolling does slow down if you have something selected.

I had this same problem on Finale 2012. If I went into page view and zoomed in and out a couple of times, it sometimes cleared it. Tech support had no solution and asked me to use my found workaround, though that stopped working eventually. It seemed to be to do with the size of the file.

No, you had a different problem with the same effect! smilewinkgrin 2012 was consistently slow with large files: 2014 is generally fast and doesn't slow down for big files.

Thanks for info, will explore more, but for work I am staying in 2011 for quite a while I think.

Just curious, for those finding scroll view to be very zippy, are you on a Retina or normal laptop? I wonder if the extra pixel pushing is the culprit.

I'm on a normal laptop. But 2014 is supposed to include support for Retina Displays.

Wiggy, it does support it. And it looks great. I'm just wondering if that has something to do with the slowness. What version of OSX are you on?

Jeremy and Tim, are you running 10.9? It might be helpful if you included this information in your signatures.

I have the same exact problem and it happens in all page views. I can't figure out what it is and nothing alleviates the issue.

I'm finding I have to really drag to get it to advance a bar at all, and then inevitably over drag and have to move back. Finding Scroll view navigation very difficult. I'm sure it wasn't like this when I first installed.
