Playback is the problem. It's from fourth-line F sharp to fourth-line F natural, only a half-step, but Finale plays back the slide immediately, not as a string player would execute it. I want the F sharp to be held almost to its full value before sliding the finger to F natural. How do I make Finale play back this glissando more realistically? Arthur J. Michaels

as a test, just try removing the slur. that MIGHT make a difference in playback (again, one of the reasons I always make two scores: one for playback, one for printing). Finale (started with ver. 3.0) using 2012 (2014 has been shelved for its lack of support for older Garritan libraries), putting Finale 25 through its paces. Windows 8.1 basically ALL Garritan libraries, plus XSample Chamber Ensemble.

I think the problem was that I had indicated a glissando expression, the glissando smart line, and the plugin. When I turned the plugin off, the sound was much more to my liking. I'm note sure if it's supposed to work that way, but it's an improvement.
winknotes said... there's a checkbox to "delay as long as possible" or something like that. Maybe play around with checking and unchecking that box. Where do you see this option? I can't find it. Arthur J. Michaels
