I am on my laptop, trying to work with Finale 2014.5 files created on my big box at home. Whenever I try to play anything, I get "This session was made for Aria 1.848 while your version is 1.846. please update!" There is no playback.

Garritan ARIA Player informs us, "A new version is available (1.872), would you like to download it?" Clicking Yes takes us to https://store.makemusic.com/Downloads/Default.aspx?p=1. The link doesn't actually go to a download site, just the basic MakeMusic download page, so we have to search for ourselves and finally discover that the latest version available is 1.846.

How do we fix this?

P.S. to whoever runs the website now: You should really get rid of all the links that say "Ask a question" since they all just go to finalemusic.com home page and I get more and more frustrated every time I click on one.

Hi Dean

The update seems to refer to the aria Engine version 1.872 which may be downloaded from here http://ariaengine.com/support/aria-engine-update/

Just install after download. You may need to update both computers.

Hopefully, that should sort out your playback issue. I can't find the update for the player either. Version 1.846 seems to be all thats available from downloads. Perhaps it has something to do with the new GPO5? The latest version of sforzando is 1.848.

I'm getting a message on a file sent to me by a support guy saying "This session was made for Aria 1.901 while your version is 1.872. Please update!"

Problem is, there is no Aria 1.901 available for download.

It is the Engine, not the Player, that has been updated. If you have the most recent standalone Aria Player (1.872), you can open it, go to the Settings page and click the link to update the engine.
