Hi

I'm trying to get a tuplet definition as 3 eights in the space of 2 eights. but see what I get in the attached picture. Can anyone tell me how can I get rid of this problem and be able to proper define my tuplets. I've tried many différents things but always get this attached tuplets

Your help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Please specify the many different things you've already tried.

Have you e. g. studied the tutorial on Mike Rosen’s web site (= http://www.specialmillwork.com/finaletips.htm)?
I mean the tutorial “Tuplets with Simple Entry 2.pdf”.

Another trick you may (or may not) have tried already:
Speedy Entry Tool.
Ctrl-1 (Tuplet Definition - which defaults to “3 Eights in the space of 2 Eighths”)
Return (OK!)
4 (first Eighth)
4 (middle Eighth)
4 (last Eighth)

Peter

Even in the tuplets definition windows it is at 3 eights in the space of two as default that doesn't correct the problem. I've tried to write others tuplets but always get the same problems as indicated in the jpg attached. It seem that I can't get anything to resolve this bug. Any ideas?

I would try it on a fresh document. Also, restart Finale if you haven't. If you are sure that you're doing it right and the problem persists, rename the preferences file.

Peter's advice for Speedy entry can be simplified further:

Ctrl-3
4 (first Eighth)
4 (middle Eighth)
4 (last Eighth)

Reboot. Or, create a new preferences file.
