Is there a way to make Finale create PDF files in pure black and white?

Are you having problems with RGB export? I've had this with some publshers for whom Finale's PDFs render at about 87% gray. In these cases, I load the PDFs into ColorSync (Utilities) and run both the B&W and the Create Generic PDFX-3 filters. This has always taken care of it (for me).

Also, you can access Quartz-filter from the Mac OS X Print dialog box:

From the Print dialog, use the PDF pop up menu, but instead of “Save as PDF…”, choose “open PDF in Preview”.

From the document window in Preview, hit ⌘S to save the PDF.

You end in a directory dialog box with a pop up menu for Quartz-filter.
