Hi, This is another payback problem from an old Finale file from 2002. I followed what you told me in a previous case, converting the file to xml and then opening that in my current Finale 2014b.

Then I believe I have put the ScoreManager as it should be done.

The problem is that the simple pizz. in the cello does not effect playback.

As far as I can see, I have done everything correctly. Thank you.

If we can see the file, we can probably better troubleshoot the problem.

All the instruments were missing when I opened the file, so you must be using samples I don't have. When I chose the option to reassign playback sounds, it chose the Cello KS, which plays the pizz and arco just fine.

I wouldn't convert to xml just to load an old file into 2014. I would only do that if the file was acting strangely or was corrupt in some way.

When I opened the file, all of the sounds loaded correctly. The pizz and arco in the solo cello also played back correctly.

Hmm, I wonder if this is some variant of what has happened to me a few times: I open a file that previously played back, but is now silent. The usual trick of choosing "reassign playback sounds" does nothing. Rebooting the computer is the only thing that solves it (even quitting and restarting Finale did nothing.)
