I don't suppose there is a way that Finale can automatically place dynamics in vocal music above the staff, is there? It would be awfully nice not to have to drag all of the dynamics from where they are automatically placed so that they are above, rather than below the staff.

Most of us have two sets of dynamics, one below and one above, with different shortcuts for the two.

Aha! I didn't know you could do that.

Still, wouldn't it be awesome in some update that Finale knows that vocal dynamics go above and acts accordingly?

One quick fix is to leave them with the default below staff placement, but move the below staff baseline for the vocal staves above the staff. This is done using the second arrow of the 4. This will affect the placement of any expression that is attached to below the staff to above the staff. Any that are already above the staff should stay put.
