In the attached document, the three trumpets change from C to E and then back to C (not all at the same time!). I don't think I have my E trumpets transposed right, though:

See mm. 170, 3 mms before rehearsal # 221a. The key signature for the entire piece is now E major, and my trumpets are pitched in E. In the first trumpet, the original score has a whole note D, which sounds F# a major third above the written note. In my score, that # on the D shouldn't show up. What am I doing wrong?

Please send written instructions, as I am cranking on other sections of this document in the interim.

You've indeed got the wrong transposition. You want -2,-4 for E trumpet, not -3,0. I don't think chromatic transposition is desirable.
