Do we know when teachers will be able to access the gradebook and assignment option in 2011?  I have students coming back in a week and would love to have this up and running by then!  Looking forward to using SmartMusic this year in my classes.

I have tried to set-up my classes for 2010-2011 but I don't get the option to change they class year to 2010-2011. Am I missing something or have they not added that function yet?

Thanks for any info, I am excited to get my next year of classes set-up.

You'll need to update to SmartMusic 2011; the new Gradebook service isn't compatible with the older versions.

I have updated to smartmusic2011. So to understand, I don't use the web (smartmusic.com/impact) to add classes and manage my school I do it directly from smartmusic2011?

That is correct - we are looking at the possibility to create a free-standing web interface for the current version of Gradebook, but you wouldn't see that as a feature before back-to-school, I'm afraid.

The classes stay nearly the same and need only to be renamed...

... and all my students need to set up their account and must be forced to upgrade to 2011? :shocked

This will mean, all my administration work OF THE LAST YEARS is gone, the students, the classes, assignments...

That's hard to believe.

Please find a way, how it is possible to continue working with 2010 until 2011 is working fast, versatile und fluid...

My students and I prefer a good software for practising. It doesn't matter, if there are funny pictures in the user interface.

Does anybody know, how it is possible to import accompaniments (Band and Orchestra) from 2010 to 2011 directly? The tech support proposed a way, that I should download ALL accompaniments again...

In most parts 2011 seems to be a little bit faster, but IN THE MAIN WORK: starting the playback of an accompaniment my ibook 1,3GHZ with 2011 needs 8!! EIGHT yes, eight seconds more until starting the count off. E V E R Y T I M E!! than my ibook with 800 MHz an 2010...

I have put in a request for the ability to import old classes and libraries and I hope you will also. I know our personal libraries will be available soon from 2010. However I am kinda enjoying a do-over in making assignments and cleaning up my files.

Anyway, make sure you put in the request. More squeaking gets the wheel greasy.

We are currently in the 4th week back with students (including Band Camp), and I am unable to use the gradebook, set up classes, push assignments and functionallly use the program as an assessment tool. I feel that not only have we been downgraded, but the remaining 3 months of our subscriptions have been nullified. Make it work or allow 2010 and Impact to function until 2011 does!

Welcome to the forums! The Gradebook function in 2011 is currently available and has been for about a week now. When you try logging in to set up, what isn't working for you?
