I am trying to learn what is possible with Finale script.

For example, can I create a custom button that runs a macro?

Can I just record a macro like in MS Word, or do I only write it?

How would I, for example, select a file and change all key signatures to accidentals?

I tried:

select all
key signature tool
select C major
check menu item "hold notes to original pitches"

But that didnt work.

How do I write an instruction to load a particular library? Again the intuitive approach didnt work.

(I did manage to create some successful scripts, but did not find the user manual very helpful for a beginner FS writer.)

Another question also comes to mind.

In simple entry, is there a keystroke to change layers? Having to move the mouse to a tiny button at bottom left and accurately click it keeping the pointer completely still, is difficult and annoying.

Hope someone can give me some guidance.

thanks, john
