I have Finale 2014 and I LOVE the product. Lately, the past few weeks, my windows computer has been acting really strangely using Finale. It'll be fine for a while and then all of a sudden the slurs start coming out as a pedal or a straight line -- it varies. And the articulations start jumbling up, too. Like a staccato comes out as an accent etc. If I double click the staccato, it will change it from the accent to the staccato I desire. Also, if I restart my computer, all becomes fine again. Any thoughts on what this could be? It's really getting OLD!!!

My first guess would be that the culprit is an (electronically) stuck key on the computer keyboard.
The stuck key will trigger metatools in all the tools that have the key programmed as a trigger for a metatool.

An example:
The default metatool key for an accent is the letter A key.
If the letter A key is electronically stuck, you will get an accent when-ever you try to add an articulation.

Usually a computer restart will fix an electronically stuck key.

If a key is physically stuck, try hitting the stuck key multiple times.

If a reboot clears it, then this suggests that Finale is not the culprit. Firstly, reboot every day. (I normally power my computer off at night, so the system is fresh in the morning.) Secondly, make sure you are not running anything else while you have Finale open--especially that any RAM-hungry applications are fully shut down.

I have to reinstall Finale from time to time to cure various anomalies. Which usually appear after I have had a bad shutdown of Finale, which usually happens when I have been running Finale with too many browser tabs open and too many other programs running. (A very bad habit.) Then I have to do a cold boot of windows and do the Finale reinstall before anything else loads.
