I prefer to use the Direct Sound driver for playback. I have ASIO4ALL installed, but normally use it only for my DAW. Every time I open Finale (the DAW is not open), the Audio setting is set to ASIO4ALL. I have to then change it back to the Direct Sound driver. Is there any way to make that setting stick?

Try setting ASIOenabled=0 in the FINMIDI.INI file.
