I notice a significant difference in latency when I change from Finale SoundFonts to Quicktime Playback. How come?

And another question: What's the purpose of the MIDI-in latency values (to fill in), found in MIDI/MIDI Setup?

And my final question: Is there a way to mix the different tracks i.e. to turn the volume up on vocals, lower the drums, etc.?

Hope someone can help, otherwise I'll stick to my old MT-32!!!

Hello,

Please write directly to macsupport@makemusic.com for direct personal support. The soundfont will give more of a delay because it is a much larger soundfont than what the default Quicktime instruments use. The MIDI in latency is used if you were to experience latency between what input and what you hear (with the click) using Hyperscribe. To insert a volume change for a staff, click on the MIDI tool. Highlight the staff. Go to the MIDI tool menu>>Continuous data. Choose number 7, volume. Click O.K. Go to the MIDI tool menu>>Set to. Type in a value 1 through 127. Click O.K.
