I carelessly deleted some fonts and now Finale shows gobbledegook. Can anyone help please

You need to reload the fonts. Reloading the fonts means put in the installation disk, and when it asks you for options, do a custom install. Then select only the fonts for installation. This should re-install the fonts on your machine. Many others have also had to reboot after reinstalling fonts.
